Air Pop is an American composer and musician. Entirely self-taught, he established his own recording studio; writing, self-producing and playing all of the instruments on his recordings.
Written in the winter months, "waiting for a girl to return from visiting Guatemala," the self-titled album is a heart and soul summons to the wonder and longing of love. Drawing on his prolific design background, he drew working inspiration from the archive pages of Raf Simons and says he would "mute youtube videos of Miu Miu and Céline fashion shows while practicing, finding the mood, finding mirroring values."
Those values were extended to include violinist, Allyson Camitta, and a painting by his father, which he chose as the album's cover. Air Pop describes having found his "state of grace" while writing the album and looks forward to performing: "In a live setting, the songs are meant to be performed by just me and my guitar. I have so much love to give."
