Guitarist/vocalist Aaron Mbambo attracted critical acclaim for his performance on the multi-artist anthology Zulu Jive in 1983. Mbambo's uplifting fusion of tribal rhythms and urban grooves helped to turn the album into what Magazine called, "soulful, rollicking, bluesy, funky" and the New York Times called "utterly fresh and compellingly danceable."
