A Long Winter was a melodic hardcore band formed in 2001 in Blackwood, New Jersey. The group was signed to Tribunal Records and released their first debut full-length album a year after the formation. In 2003, Tribunal had remastered the demos which had only been sold in live concerts and released it in all musical stores containing post-hardcore material. The band broke up in late 2003.
Formation and Demos, (1999)edit:
In late 1999, brothers Adam and Owen Staszewski had started the musical group with Owen on drums and Adam on guitar and clean vocals, with lead vocalist, Dave Stahl, on screaming vocals. They had picked up guitarist John Roth and bassist Mike Senatore. All of them were signed to Tribunal Records. Here, they recorded their first four musical pieces. These songs were only sold in live shows. Later, the band began to record their first LP.
I'm So Bad With Goodbyes... and Breathing Underwater, (2000-2001)edit:
After a number of months of recording, the debut I'm So Bad With Goodbyes... was released. Songs Razel Got Her Wings and Juliet gained the band notable attention, and were both featured in compilations. One was used in Tribunal's Tribunal, A Collection: Past, Present, and Future, and the other in Break Even: Definition. Later on, the record label had decided to remaster the unreleased demos as an EP, under the name of Breathing Underwater. Shortly after, the guys had broken up, due to genre disagreements.
