Long time friends Koley O'Brien and Joe Spargur founded A B & The Sea January 1st, 2009--not only marking the start of a new year, but a new journey. They packed up their van, waved goodbye to Wisconsin and started making their way to California. After going through a few line-up changes, A B & The Sea was made complete again with the addition of drummer Troy Lawton, bass player Ben Laatsch and David Hunt on keys.
Since setting up shop in the Sunshine State the band has shared the stage with the likes of fun., Fitz & The Tantrums, Best Coast, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Tokyo Police Club and countless others. Their song ‘Bone Dry’ is featured on the soundtrack for the movie ‘Chronicle’ and. The music video for their latest single ‘In The Sunshine’ can be seen in American Eagle stores nationwide.
2012 brings the bands debut LP titled ‘Constant Vacation’ produced by the likes of Wallpaper., and Jim Fairchild (Modest Mouse/Grandaddy). With infectious hooks and soothing harmonies the boys of A B & The Sea are poised to make good on what they set out to do just a few short years ago when they moved west.
