2. "Kung Fu Panda" ($34.3 million)
3. "The Happening" ($30.5 million)
4. "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" ($16.4 million)
5. "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" ($13.5 million)

Just how good was the opening weekend of "The Incredible Hulk"? We decided to ask the one man who would know best:

" 'Incredible Hulk' come back to theaters and Hulk SMASH opening weekend. Hulk destroy competition. Hulk make $54.5 million. Hulk no count that high, but Hulk know that big money. Hulk alone at top. All Hulk ever wanted was to be alone! Hulk big success for Marvel.

Hulk know what MTV think. MTV think Hulk big success but still not as big as opening for Ang Lee 'Hulk' which make $62 million in 2003. But new Hulk have to deal with disappointment from earlier Hulk. Make Hulk angry! Hulk SMASH expectations of puny humans who remember Lee 'Hulk.' Arrgg! Fanboys love new Hulk and 'Hulk' actors Ed Norton, Liv Tyler and Tim Roth!

Hulk also smart. Hulk set up more sequels with film. Hulk not kill Abomination. Fanboys go twice to see Hulk friend Samuel Sterns turn into Leader. Hulk friend Iron Man even show up! New Hulk have legs! Plus, Hulk coming back to screen soon in 'Avengers.' Hulk villain or Hulk hero? Fans have to see movie again to decide. Hulk not get credit for being so clever with film!"

In second place, "Kung Fu Panda" continued its strong performance, earning $34.3 million in week two to bring its overall total to just south of $120 million. The animated action film starring Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen and Dustin Hoffman fell only 43 percent from its opening.

Also defying expectations, M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening" came in third place with a surprising $30.5 million. Starring Mark Wahlberg, the eco-thriller is the third-biggest opening of the director's career — behind only "Signs" and "The Village" — and a huge rebound after the disappointing "Lady in the Water."

Rounding out the top five, "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" earned $16.4 million and $13.5 million, respectively. After four weeks, "Indy" still has $300 million in its sights, but it probably won't get there before "Iron Man," which should hit the magic number within the next seven days.
